In a significant achievement for the American populace, Lee Zeldin and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) reportedly identified and retrieved billions of dollars that had purportedly been ‘misplaced’ by the Biden Administration.
This development has prompted conservatives to express their satisfaction online while condemning President Biden and the left for their alleged corruption and mismanagement. For context, during a Fox News interview on February 21, 2025, EPA Director Lee Zeldin elaborated on DOGE’s efforts to eliminate waste within the Environmental Protection Agency, emphasizing his dedication to integrity and fiscal responsibility.
He highlighted his priority in locating and restoring funds that had reportedly been misappropriated by a Biden appointee within the EPA. During the interview, Director Zeldin recounted the origins of his investigation into fraud at the EPA, referencing a video that surfaced a few months prior, in which a Biden political appointee discussed the reckless disposal of gold bars from the Titanic, repeatedly mentioning the urgency to disburse billions before Inauguration Day.
Director Zeldin elaborated that members of Congress have significant concerns regarding the statements made by the EPA appointee. He further noted that during the confirmation process, they inquired whether he would prioritize the investigation into the origins of the gold bars, to which he responded affirmatively, stating that he was confirmed a few weeks ago and that the gold bars have since been located.
Director Zeldin further explained that the funds had been transferred to a designated bank, stating, “$20 billion was allocated, and due to some oversight, eight entities will receive the entire amount, distributing these funds without the EPA being fully informed of the necessary details for us to fulfill our responsibilities and ensure accountability to Congress, the media, and the public.”
Subsequently, Director Zeldin stated that funds from the EPA had been allocated to grant $50 million to a climate justice organization, which includes the phrase from their motto, ‘we believe climate justice runs through a free Palestine.’ He further mentioned, ‘Additionally, $160 million from the EPA was directed towards a Canadian manufacturer of electric vehicle buses.’
In continuation of the narrative regarding the alleged corruption within the EPA under Biden’s leadership, Director Zeldin remarked, ‘The Biden administration disbursed all the funds upfront. One might argue, ‘Produce the school bus first, and then we will compensate you, or if you require partial payments during the process, we can provide some funds.’ This approach is reasonable. However, they opted to release all the funds initially.’ He further stated, ‘As a result, they have now filed for bankruptcy. To date, they have failed to deliver $95 million worth of school buses to 55 school districts. Ultimately, it is the American taxpayer who suffers the consequences.’
