Following a recent health scare, the “Rocket Man” crooner revealed on September 4, 2024, that he is currently suffering with impaired eyesight in one eye. Fans reacted right away, offering their condolences and prayers for a speedy recovery.

“I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks,” he said, thanking everyone who has helped him.

The musician has been recovering at home in private during the summer and is pleased with his current state of healing and rehabilitation. Supporters sent their well wishes and hoped Elton John would get better soon.

“Prayers for healing, Sir Elton. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹,” a fan said. “Praying for healing for your eye🙏,” said another fan, echoing similar feelings. Another person said, “Love❤️and prayers🙏❤️‍🩹🙌❤️,” in support.

John, however, continues to be upbeat and appreciative of the help he has gotten, reminding everyone why he is still a well-liked celebrity both on and off stage.

John never performs without his sunglasses on stage. In the early 1980s, I gave it a try, but I felt vulnerable. I feel more confident wearing glasses. Without them, I wouldn’t be who I am,” he revealed.

John claims to have a thorough understanding of what constitutes a high-quality frame because he has worn innumerable pairs of spectacles. His name can be seen on his first stand-alone store if you walk down Greek Street.

158 pairs of eyeglasses and sunglasses, some inspired by the ones he has worn on stage throughout the years, are displayed on one wall inside. He proudly mentioned that he wears them all the time.

Apart from his eyes, John has had health challenges with his hip. In 2021, he rescheduled his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour in Europe and the UK to 2023.

“At the end of my summer break I fell awkwardly on a hard surface and have been in considerable pain and discomfort in my hip ever since.”, he explained.

The singer revealed that in spite of undergoing extensive physiotherapy and specialized treatment, his pain progressively worsened. This had made movement increasingly difficult. Doctors recommended surgery to ensure his full recovery and to prevent any potential long-term issues.

“I will be undertaking a program of intensive physiotherapy that will ensure a full recovery and a return to full mobility without pain.,” shared John.

In 2023, Elton had another health incident after taking a fall at his villa in Nice, France, and was briefly hospitalized. However, he was later discharged.

He took to Instagram to address the speculations, writing, “The true story is that I’m in top health, loving my shows and playing and singing at my very best. I give 100% every night and never want to disappoint, especially after everyone has waited so long to get back to seeing shows.”

The talented singer expressed his gratitude, noting that the audience’s response to every show he has hosted has been extraordinary, and he’s cherishing every moment of it.
