My Boyfriend ‘Forgets’ His Credit Card Every Time We Go Out To Eat, So I Have To Pay For Everyone

For nine months, I had been dating my boyfriend, enjoying our time together and getting to know each other. However, there was one recurring issue that kept cropping up whenever we went out with his two kids – he always seemed to forget his credit card.

At first, I brushed it off as a simple oversight. After all, being a single parent can be hectic, and it’s easy to forget things in the chaos of everyday life. But as the pattern continued, I began to feel increasingly frustrated. The last time we went out for dinner, I even sent him a reminder to make sure he brought his credit card. He assured me he had it covered and thanked me for the reminder. But when the bill arrived at the restaurant, he gave me a shocked look, fumbled through his pockets, and sheepishly admitted that he had left his card in another pair of jeans.”Can you cover it just this time?” he asked, his voice tinged with embarrassment.I reluctantly agreed, but deep down, I knew that something had to change. I couldn’t continue to foot the bill every time we went out, especially when it felt like he wasn’t making an effort to remember his own responsibilities.

So, I decided to teach him a lesson – one that he wouldn’t soon forget. The next time we made plans to go out, I casually mentioned that I had forgotten my wallet at home and wouldn’t be able to pay for dinner. His reaction was immediate – a look of panic flickered across his face as he realized that he would have to cover the bill himself.

As we sat down at the restaurant, I watched with amusement as he nervously checked his pockets, his face growing increasingly pale with each passing moment. And when the bill arrived, he hesitated for a moment before reluctantly pulling out his credit card and paying for our meal.

As we left the restaurant, I couldn’t help but smile to myself, knowing that my little lesson had hit home. From that day forward, my boyfriend made sure to double-check that he had his credit card with him whenever we went out, and I never had to foot the bill again.

Sometimes, a little tough love is all it takes to set things right and ensure that both partners are pulling their weight in a relationship. And while it may have been a small gesture, it ultimately strengthened our bond and taught us both the importance of responsibility and accountability in our relationship.
